Kitty Came Home, ahoy!

January 04, 2015

How long does it take to get a website up and running? Have we set a record? We began on January 4, 2015 and it's taken us two years and several weeks to get it launched!

Well, it took Odysseus 10 years to sail home (in Homer's epic narrative), so in tardiness terms we're in good company.

Running Kitty Came Home is a 24/7 job for us, but we do occasionally get a moment off. Two of our delightful Goolwa friends took us out on their 38' yacht, Teal II. It was Katrina's first sailing experience, and while I'm not allowed to show you any photos of her in sun cream and wind-swept floppy hat I can report that she impressed everyone aboard with her utter calm in 25-27 knot winds.

Katrina thoroughly enjoyed the company and the experience, including her own stint at the helm, in conditions where (we were told) many yacht owners won't go out. I am the luckiest man in so many ways!
